I’m a Michigan-born contemporary art and wildlife photographer currently based in Northern California.

  • FINE ART I’ve always found interest in the everyday, banal features of the remnants of small town and city life. Disused lots, abandoned stores, and buildings in various states of disrepair or decay are common subjects of my work. By documenting these features, I try to understand and draw attention to areas that may otherwise be overlooked.
  • WILDLIFE I desire to document wildlife as they live. Often, photographers try to hide signs of human life from their wildlife images. I attempt to embrace it, intentionally including power lines, barns, and other indications of what often is seen as human incursion into wilderness.
  • OTHER WORK Outside of photography, I work as a farrier, providing specialized hoof care to donkeys, horses, mules, and other species. I also am the director of CRAG, a volunteer community science organization that researches California’s natural resources.
